The necklace to the left is made with natural gemstones, primarily Tree Agate, with silver plated accents. Tree Agate is the common name for Dendritic Agate.

Wearing Tree Agate is said to bring favor of the gods.  The ancient Greeks noted Tree Agate as a stone of abundance and would sow some into their fields to ensure  a good and plentiful harvest.

Tree agate was also used to predict weather, guard against natural disasters, and for locating food and water.

The necklace to the right is made with snowflake obsidian, black onyx and silver plated accents. Snowflake obsidian is a shiny black, glass-like stone with grey and white markings.  These lighter colored splotches appear like beautiful patters of snowflakes.

The festival, which is the principal fundraiser for the Maude Kerns Art Center, attracts over 25,000 visitors annually. Monies raised from the festival help fund the Art Center’s year-round exhibitions and art classes in all media for children, teens, and adults.

We had a great time at the Gem Faire.  There are so many beautiful beads making it hard to choose.  I was able to pick-up some jasper beads along some nice Chinese silver spacer beads.

Take a look at the pearls.  A girl just has to have pearls! This is a great necklace that will take you from day time to night time. Make it a complete set with the matching earrings.

The Ladybug necklace to the right has a matching bracelet.  The Ladybug is said to bring good luck in China and may other cultures. Germans believe that the Ladybug is generally good luck but a traditional belief is if there are less than seven spots you are guaranteed a good harvest.

We're looking forward to the Gem Faire this weekend at the Lane County Events Center  Here are a couple of designs made from beads purchased at the last Gem Faire in late 2010.

We also found these beautiful black and white
beads at the Gem Faire. They are hand painted beads from China with no two beads exactly a like. The picture to the left is a close up of the beads.  To the right is a necklace made with the beads.

It's been a while since the last post but we've been busy designing away.  We're getting ready for 104th Rhododendron Festival in Florence, Oregon.  We will be at the Siuslaw Middle School May 21st and 22nd.  The exact times will be posted later.  The necklace to the left is made from Magnesite and Onyx.

We're also getting ready to show our spirit for spring football in Oregon.  Here are some great gifts for your favorite Oregon fan. The bracelet and earrings are made with Czech Crystal beads.  Our newest creation is a bracelet made with Dione Large Hole beads.

While most of what is displayed here favors the Duck fans we haven't forgotten the Beaver fans.  We have great bracelets and earrings in Beaver orange & black.

Send us an email if you are interested in purchasing any of the items pictured.  I'd like to thank our great photographer, Lynn Daniels-Anderson.  She puts the sparkle in our photo's.
